The variety of online courses available is vast. Languages, art, marketing, finance, computer science, engineering, psychology: you name it. Some courses you can do for career advancement, and some for personal enrichment. Check out sites such as Udemy.com, edX.org, Oxfordhomestudy.com and LinkedIn/Learning.com. Many courses are free, but for some you need to pay a fee.

Learn safely online
Wi-Fi is often free in public places, and as long as you use it safely, you can use it to access free online resources to build your skills. If you use public Wi-Fi:
- Don’t access your banking information.
- Only submit personal information when you know the website is fully encrypted. The
- address will be https, not just http, and it will have a lock icon in the address bar.
- Sign out of online accounts when done.
- Change your passwords often.

Be sure to read online reviews before paying any fees. Other people’s reviews will give you a good indication of the quality of the course and whether it is worth your time and money.
